DAY 1: Marrakech:
Pick up at Marrakech airport with a 4×4 vehicle with driver-guide and transfer to hotel or riad. Depending on your arrival time, it’s possible to make the first contact with the Medina, visiting Djemaa el-Fna Square which is filled of story-tellers, fortune tellers, jugglers, tooth-pullers, dancers, snake charmers and more.
DAY 2: Ouarzazat – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades:
After breakfast, we will depart to Ouarzazat through the famous Tizi Ntichka pass (2260m), over the High Atlas Mountains, with snow on its peaks most of the year, appreciating the beauty of the landscape on the twisted road through the Berber villages. We’ll get to Ait Ben Haddou village, where stands the famous kasabah recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, now a house of many Glaoui family members. Lunch in the Kasbah and continue to Ouarzazat, “the Hollywood of Africa”, where you will have the option to visit and see many props used in movies. We will continue to Boumalne Dades across the area known as Rose Valley or Route of the thousand Kasbahs. Arrival Boumalne Dades, a town located in the Central High Atlas, to 1612 m. altitude.
DAY 3: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga:
After breakfast we will leave the Dades valley towards Tinrghir and the Todra valley watching the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Lunch in a restaurant under 200m high red cliff of the gorge. Hundreds of rock climbers come to enjoy their favorite sport here. Continue to Erfoud and Rissani to arrive to Merzouga where your camel will be waiting for you. You’ll be welcomed with a mint tea before you ride your camel and then you’ll be guided by an experienced camel man. Start your safari to explore the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. After one hour and a half with camels you will arrived to a special place… in the middle of the desert. Here you will spend your night under the stars in a traditional Berber nomad tent, and after dinner you’ll enjoy with local nomad music.
DAY 4: Camel Trek – Nomads:
“Date with the Dawn.” Your camel man will wake you up early in the morning to walk to the top of the Great Dune to watch the best sunrise of your life. After, you’ll ride your camel again to come back to your hotel where you’ll take a shower and have your breakfast. Then our cars will take us to surround the Erg to the abandoned village of Merdani, mint tea welcomed by a Bedouin family with whom you will share – even if just for a while – a bit of their simple lifestyle, time spent with the nomads will last in your memory. Continue to Begaa Oasis near the border with Algeria. At lunch time we will do a Picnic. Later we’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan and Mali, to enjoy their music, traditional dances and lifestyle. Arrival at hotel to take us the rest of the day relaxing. After, for the more adventurers, there is the possibility of outputs with quad in the dunes.
DAY 5: Merzouga – Zagora:
After breakfast in hotel we’ll go to Rissani. If it is Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday this is an opportunity to explore the souk, meeting place for many caravans coming from Timbuktu in Mali. With most of the woman veiled, and men hooded, this is a very traditional Moroccan town. We’ll continue driving towards Zagora, via Alnif and Tazarine where we will take our lunch in a Berber Kasbah, before we get to the fascinating Draa Valley at the edge of the Atlas Mountain. Stop in special landscapes to take pictures, and continue to Zagora.
DAY 6: Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate:
After breakfast we’ll head to Ouarzazat again through the Draa Valley. Just before Agdez stop to stretch your legs and see the panoramic view of the palm grove and the scenic moon-like landscape with the beautiful contrast of the Berber villages and the Saghro mountains. Continue towards our hotel near the Kasbah Tifoultout; an area that has been a popular location for Hollywood films. When we enter to the downtown you would take pictures of Taourirt Kasbah.
DAY 7: Ouarzazate – Marrakech:
Breakfast in the riad, then departs to Marrakech. On our way – since this is the land of a high Atlas mountains – this is an opportunity to visit the women’s co-operative of Argan oil where they extract the oil that is famous for its culinary, cosmetic and medical properties. Lunch in the same place. You’ll arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon to check into your riad or hotel, but before that we will visit the fascinating Bahia palace, the historical Saadian Tombs and the famous Coranic Ben Youssef School.
DAY 8: Marrakech:
After breakfast, pick up at the agreed time and transfer to Marrakech Airport for your flight back. The tour will finish at this point but you will remember the adventure.
